Rhelma’s Story
Rhelma O’Reilly – Vintage 1932
Rhelma was a mountain and Horse lover from the start; being carried on a horse up to the mountain at 2 weeks of age. She was one of only three second-generation O’Reilly’s with cousins Vince and Peter with whom she did school correspondence.
Rhelma was only 4 years old but still remembers her father, Bernard, putting on his boots to go into the depths of Lamington National Park and subsequently find the survivors of the Stinson airline crash.
At the Retreat, Rhelma was known by the guests as “Shirley Temple” for her curly locks and charm, however her father called her “Imp” – a small mischievous devil – which she feels was probably more accurate!
Our Shiraz-Merlot Rosé from Queensland’s Granite Belt unveils a palate of Red Cherry, Strawberries, and Sugar Plums, with hints of Rose petals. It’s deep red colour reflects the richness of the Shiraz. The body is soft, with fresh red fruits dancing over a balanced palate extended by its crisp acidity.
Enjoy it now, or cellar until 2032.
Perfectly complements a spicy curry.
