Melissa-Anne was born in Singapore at an Australian Army base hospital.

In 1973, her family returned to Australia. At 18, she left school and joined the Air Force, beginning a journey shaped by the belief that “anything is possible.” This motto continues to inspire her as a mother, wife, friend, and professional.

A double amputee, Melissa-Anne discovered Para Archery after watching the Tokyo Paralympics. She is now Australia’s top-ranked W1 Para-Open Women archer and holds Oceania titles.

Her achievements led to selection for the 2023 World Championships and the Paris 2024 Paralympics. She is now training with hopes of competing in the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics.

Like many women, Melissa-Anne balances work, family, and personal goals. She believes we all have one life to find our ‘why’—a belief that defines her journey.

“My ‘Why’ is that I believe anything is possible when we strive to be our best in everything we do. By speaking, acting, and behaving in ways that create positive change, we can make a difference in the lives of others. Whether it’s our children, partners, friends, colleagues, clients, or the wider community, everyone benefits,” she says.
