O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards Vintage Restaurant Shines at 2018 QLD Tourism Awards

O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards Vintage Restaurant has taken Gold at the 2018 QLD Tourism Awards for Restaurants and Catering Services. Vineyard Manager Tamil Mani and Chef Paula Sproul accepted the award, praising the hard work of the small team. “We are a small team and we work hard but it has paid off!” Mani said.

Gold for Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services


O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyard’s Vintage Restaurant has won Gold in the Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services category at the 2018 Queensland Tourism Awards. Operating for 34 years, the awards recognise outstanding achievements across Queensland’s tourism industry, including individuals, businesses, and events.

 

Celebrating the Team

Vineyard Manager Tamil Mani and Chef Paula Sproul were on hand to receive the award at the industry event. Mani reflected on the effort behind the win, saying, “A lot of dedication and hard work goes into winning this award!”

 

He added, “We are a small team and we work hard but it has paid off!”

 

Signature Dish Recognition

When asked about the restaurant’s signature dish, Mani was quick to respond: “I like Chef Paula’s Beef Pie! Everything is made in house and I think the pie is Paula’s signature dish!”

Chef Paula, who was O’Reilly’s 2017 Employee of the Year, shared her thoughts on the accolade: “It’s a beautiful feeling, we are very proud!”

 

Bronze in the Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries Category

In addition to the Gold win, O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards received Bronze in the Tourism Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries category. The vineyard previously won Gold in 2017 and Silver in 2016.

About the Queensland Tourism Awards


The Queensland Tourism Awards operate through submissions and inspections, offering an opportunity to publicly acknowledge and showcase the state’s finest tourism operators. The awards cover 30 categories, including attractions, events, tours, transport, accommodation, restaurants, culture, and marketing.

 

Gold winners at the state level automatically gain entry to the Australian Tourism Awards, which will be held in Launceston, Tasmania in 2019.
