At O’Reilly’s, sustainability isn’t an afterthought — it’s integral to how we care for our land, our people, and our community. We take pride in striving for environmental responsibility while delivering memorable vineyard experiences.
🍾 All packaging we use is biodegradable and plastic-free.
🍾 We recycle bottles and cans — and we support our local Scouts group by channeling some of that return value their way.
🍾 Vegetable scraps are composted or sent to neighbours’ chickens.
🍾 We actively limit the use of single-use plastics wherever possible.
🍾 Solar panels on our roof supply renewable electricity to parts of the property.
🍾 Our drinking water is UV-filtered, providing safe, clean water without needing excess bottled options.
🍾 We operate a wastewater treatment facility on-site to ensure we responsibly process water before it leaves the property.
In 2025, faced with heavy rainfall that threatened to rot a portion of our Chambourcin grapes, we transformed waste into opportunity. Instead of discarding them, our team hand-harvested 1 tonne of fruit that was unsuitable for wine. Partnering with Ugly Duck Fine Foods, we created Chambourcin & Bay fruit paste — a rich must that complements cheese, lamb, or even vanilla cream on scones. It’s a delicious example of circular thinking in action.
We’re proud to hold credentials that reflect our ongoing efforts and to maintain standards in sustainability and cultural respect:
🍾 EarthCheck Certified — a globally recognized, science-based certification for tourism and sustainability.
🍾 EcoCertified / ECO Certification / Advanced Tourism under Ecotourism Australia — recognizing operators committed to industry-leading sustainable and nature-based practices.
🍾 Respecting Our Culture (ROC) Certification — affirming our commitment to cultural heritage, traditional owners, and operating in ways that respect Indigenous connections to the land
We acknowledge that sustainability is a journey, not a destination. We’re consistently reviewing and enhancing our practices, from vineyard to visitor experience.
You can play a part too:
🍾 Bring a reusable water bottle — our UV-filtered water is always readily available with our staff members.
🍾 Recycle responsibly using our onsite bins.
🍾 Let us know if you have suggestions or specific accessibility or sustainability needs before your visit — we’d be glad to assist.
